We want to take you a little bit out of our coverage area to bring you a story that highlights some of the potential problems Florida drivers run into on the roadway.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers said that a drowsy driver caused a crash last week at a toll plaza in Winter Haven. The crash, captured on cameras, happened at around 5:30 in the afternoon when traffic tends to be a bit heavy. The video footage shows a Chevy Silverado being pushed forward after a GMC Envoy slammed into the back of it. The impact of the crash pushed the truck vertical and the Envoy somehow ended up pinned underneath the truck.
The 32-year-old victim driving the truck is still in the hospital. He suffered a broken leg and his sister tells the news that he had a seizure after the accident that landed him in intensive care.
The driver of the Envoy was cited by troopers for careless driving.

More and more, we are seeing that drivers are becoming distracted by their cell phones or other devices. How often do you see other drivers looking down at their phone screens instead of the roadway? Distracted drivers are a major cause of concern for Florida drivers.
Drivers who speed and drive aggressively can cause major damage if they get into an accident.
